Senior squad as it stands...
Assuming Anderson is swapping the dim lights of Stratford for the bright lights of the Champions League and Porto:

1. Fabianski (GK)
2. Randolph (GK)
3. Martin (GK)

4. Ogbonna (CB)
5. Balbuena (CB)
6. Diop (CB)
7. Cresswell (CB)

8. Coufal (RWB)
9. Fredericks (RWB)

10. Masuaku (LWB)

11. Rice (CM)
12. Soucek (CM)
13. Noble (CM)
14. Snodgrass (CM)

15. Bowen (RF)
16. Yarmalenko (RF)

17. Fornals (LF)
18. Lanzini (LF)

19. Antonio (CF)
20. Haller (CF)
21.
22.
23.
24.
25.

After that we're supplementing with kids:

Coventry (CM)
Alese (CB)
Afolayan (CF)
Johnson (L/RWB)

It's not until you write it down that you see just how threadbare we are! 1 injury at CB and we have no senior CB for the bench. Masuaku gets injured and it calls our whole system into question. Rice or Soucek go down and the backup looks miles from competent.

To have a senior squad that is 1/5th empty surely has to be considered negligent? It's not like we are historically lucky with injuries either...unless something incredible happens in the next two weeks we're going to need the kids to seriously step up.

We pretty much need a CB, LWB, CM and a FW (with another back up forward or wide forward too depending on if Bowen or Yarma are considered the 3rs striking option after Haller and Antonio).

Bare bones (and that's before injuries strike).

Masuaku get's injured ans

think you've left out Snodgrass, but doesn't make the picture much better.

a first team squad in sullis mind is majorly measured by his finances of the relative portfolio.
another piss poor piece of management by the Master

It's ok because Moyes has infected so many players now we have herd immunity within the squad.

A Premier League squad should consist of 21 Senior players + 3 Goalkeepers.

It is clear to everyone that we need a centre back (as you need 5 if you are playing with a 3).

We need a Left Back / Left With Back as Cresswell isn't good enough for either position.

And lastly we need a forward in a similar mould to Antonio.

In an ideal world, I feel we need a wide left attacking player and a another central midfielder as well. As in my opinion, Lanzini, Snodgrass and Noble aren't good enough.

On the basis we can only sign Championship players, I'd like us to sign -

Rodon/Worrall
Henry/Manning
Swift/Billing
Benrahma
Deeney/King/Grant

But we will be lucky to get just Dawson and Manning.

more keepers than strikers.

awesome.

last season we hoped that Fabianski or Rice wouldnt get injured. this season its Antonio, Ogbonna, Rice or Soucek.

I thinks it’s safe to class Antonio as a recognised striker at this point.

Re: Senior squad as it stands...
scott_d trying to do Sullivan's bidding there I see. A board STOOGE.

Here's the squad as it stands even if Johnson and Coventry are included:

Goalkeepers
Fabianski
Randolph
Martin

Defenders
Ogbonna
Balbuena
Diop
Cresswell
Masuaku
Johnson
Coufal

Central Midfielders
Rice
Soucek
Noble
Coventry

Forwards/wingers
Antonio
Bowen
Fornals
Yarmalenko
Lanzini

Strikers
Haller

That's only TWENTY FUCKING PLAYERS WITH ONE RECOGNISED STRIKER, and two of them are unproven rookies at Premier League level (Johnson, Coventry).

Doesn't look like we have enough wingers

Scott d, what a nonsensical post

We have 20 professionals

We need 25

We have cunts in charge who do everything on the cheap

Re: Senior squad as it stands...
Who says you need more players though.
I'm sure G&S are explaining that we have enough cover in all positions based on below:

Fabianski (GK)
Randolph (GK)
Martin (GK)

Ogbonna (CB)
Balbuena (CB)
Diop (CB)
Cresswell (CB)
Rice (CB)

Coufal (RWB)
Fredericks (RWB)
Antonio (RWB)

Masuaku (LWB)
Cresswell (LWB)
Johnson (LWB)

Rice (CM)
Soucek (CM)
Noble (CM)
Snodgrass (CM)
Fornals (CM)
Coverntry (CM)

Bowen (RF)
Yarmalenko (RF)
Antonio (FW)

Fornals (LF)
Lanzini (LF)
Yarmalenko (LF)

Antonio (CF)
Haller (CF)

So really we're just short up front and looks like the Josh King is available.

What a squad we would have if he signed!

And Ian Pearce starting up front for a few non-wins in our last but one relegation season
